Bahati P.C.E.A Girls is located in Nakuru North sub county in Nakuru county. It is located 22km to the north of Nakuru town and 3 km off Nakuru - Nyahururu road. The school is situated on a 10 acre land in an area experiencing tropical savanna climate.
The school was started in 1979 under sponsorship of presbyterian church of East Africa (P.C.E.A) as a Harambee school and later became a government school in 1981. In 1982 it became a mixed boarding school. From 2001the boys were gradually phased out and by 2004 it became a girl's school.In 2020 the school was elevated to Extra County School.
The school's enrolment has gradually increased for the last five years.From 550 in 2017 to 840 in 2022 and in turn making the school move from 3 streams to 4 streams.
The increase in enrolment has also come in turn with substantial infrastructural growth and adjustments such as classrooms ,dining hall and a modern dormitory.Academically,the school has progressed very well as indicated in the last 12 years.The mean score moved from 4.2 in 2007 to 7.04 in 2015 but declined in 2016 due to challenges mentioned in 3.7.2 of the strategic plan.The target of the school is to achieve a mean score of 7.5 by 2026.
